Intro
This massage is for anyone who has not been in before. Includes complimentary aromatherapy and holistic cold therapy lotion if you would like.
Swedish
Swedish massage is gentle. This technique aims to promote relaxation by releasing muscle tension and down-regulating your sympathetic nervous system. This massage may help to increase blood flow and lymph drainage while stimulating nerve endings.
Deep Tissue
Deep Tissue is used to release chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow, deep strokes and finger pressure on contracted areas. Deep tissue is meant to alleviate chronic pain, reduce stress, improve circulation, and reduce inflammation, Helps break up adhesions and knots as well as scar tissue.
Combo
NMT (NeuroMuscular Therapy) – also called myofascial trigger point therapy, is a specialized from of massage that involves the application of firm, sustained and controlled pressure over painful, taut bands of muscle (holding for 30 sec-2 minutes) Think of your muscle as a rope and trigger points are knots on the rope. These knots limit the shortening and lengthening of that muscle causing pain, weakness and restriction. Combining the relaxing strokes of Swedish massage helps the muscles, body and mind to relax which then allows the deeper strokes and NMT work to be even more effective.
Focused Medical & Auto Injury
Very precise work done on a very specific area with the use of tools that assist in breaking up adhesions, knots while promoting blood flow to that area which carries oxygen and nutrients to expedite the healing process in that area.
Oncology Massage
A gentle treatment for those going through current cancer treatment. Goals are to relieve lymphedema, improve joint mobility, decrease anxiety, fatigue, and pain, and improve circulation and immune function. Most importantly oncology massage promotes profound relaxation and unwinding in a safe, caring environment. A special body pillow can be used for those with port irritation laying face down or for those who are ready for bodywork post-operatively.
